The next chapter of Khosla Ka Ghosla will arrive later than expected. The sequel, led by Anupam Kher and Boman Irani, was due to open in cinemas on August 28, 2026. Its release has now been moved to March 5, 2027, giving the production a new date for its return to the big screen.
What is the Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 Release Date?
The filmmakers revealed the revised schedule on social media, accompanying the announcement with a fresh poster. The date is now confirmed: audiences can expect to see the Khosla family back in theatres on March 5, 2027.
Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 Cast
The sequel brings together several performers who appeared in the 2006 film. Alongside Kher and Irani, the returning cast includes Tara Sharma, Ranvir Shorey, Kiran Juneja and Parvin Dabas. The poster also features Ravi Kishan and Divya Khosla Kumar, adding their names to the ensemble.
Revisiting the Original Film and Its Property Dispute
The story began with the original Khosla Ka Ghosla, which introduced director Dibakar Banerjee to feature filmmaking in 2006. At its centre was Kamal Kishore Khosla, played by Anupam Kher, a man whose modest ambition was to build a house for his family. That ambition ran into trouble when property dealer Kishan Khurana, portrayed by Boman Irani, took control of his land.
Recovering it came at a price: Khurana wanted Rs 15 lakh. The dispute gave the comedy its central conflict, pitting an ordinary family’s hopes against a man prepared to profit from its predicament.
When the law offers no remedy, Khosla’s sons choose another course. Bunty and Cherry enlist Asif and a group of theatre performers to stage a deception. They invent a property transaction designed to trap Khurana. The dealer sees a chance to make money and fails to recognise the danger. His greed costs him dearly. The family uses the money he puts into the deal to take back the land that belongs to them.
Anupam Kher’s Upcoming Films and Latest Projects
Kher’s latest directorial venture, Tanvi The Great, reached cinemas on July 18, 2025. The drama tells the story of Tanvi Raina, a 21-year-old woman on the autism spectrum. She shares her home with her mother, Vidya, and her grandfather, Pratap Raina. Her life takes a new direction when she learns about a wish her late father never fulfilled.
Samar Raina was a defence officer who wanted to salute the Indian flag at Siachen Glacier. He never got the chance to do so. Tanvi decides that his ambition should not end with his death. She sets out to complete the journey in his place, despite the difficulties that stand before her.
Kher’s next projects include Yeh Prem Mol Liya, a romantic drama directed by Sooraj Barjatya. Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari play the lead roles, while Kher also has a significant part in the film. The makers have scheduled its theatrical release for November 27, 2026.
Kher will also appear alongside Prabhas in Fauzi. The film is another entry in his upcoming slate, and current listings point to a December 2026 release rather than March 2027.
Conclusion
Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 has been announced for theatrical release on March 5, 2027. So, fans will have to wait for another round of property-related chaos. Ravi Kishan and Divya Khosla Kumar have joined the returning cast, making the comedy even more interesting. The original movie hit a nerve and made a mundane family drama a witty and engaging comedy.
The second instalment will have high expectations to live up to the magic of the first if it’s going to do the same. After all, it’s a stressful enough process to buy property in real life, so it’s much more fun to see someone else get into a real estate mess. For now, viewers can note the new release date on their calendars and see if the Khoslas have yet another nifty trick up their sleeve.
