It took Avinash Mishra almost ten years to reach the point where his television career produced a major prize. That moment came on Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, where he finished the season as its winner. In the last stunt, Mishra came out ahead of Rithvik Dhanjani and Orhan Awatramani, widely known as Orry.
The season, presented by Rohit Shetty, ended on October 4. The victory brought Mishra more than recognition. He received Rs 20 lakh, a Maruti Suzuki Swift and a trip to Europe along with the winner’s trophy.
Avinash Mishra Television Career before Khatron Ke Khiladi 15
Mishra entered the world in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on December 9, 1995. By the time he won Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, he had spent close to ten years building a career in Hindi television. Acting was not his starting point. He first worked as a disc jockey and also appeared in advertisements before moving into television.
In 2017, he got his first television role in Sethji, playing Bajirao. His career then moved through a number of serials, among them Yeh Teri Galiyan, Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, Nath – Zewar Ya Zanjeer and Titli. With each role, he became more familiar to television audiences. The real change in his public profile came later, with Bigg Boss 18. Mishra became an important contestant during the season and eventually ended the competition in fourth position.
His appearance on Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 was a different kind of test. The programme placed him in situations where confidence alone was not enough. He had to perform difficult stunts and keep going when the pressure increased. By the final episode, he had outlasted the other contenders. After years of television work, Mishra finally had a major reality-show title to his name.
How Avinash Mishra Win the Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 Trophy
Avinash did not wait until the final episode to establish himself as a serious contender. He performed well across the season and earned particular praise from Rohit Shetty for the way he handled water challenges. His biggest early breakthrough came in an underwater task against Karan Wahi. Avinash won that contest and became the first contestant to secure a place in the final.
The finale began with five contenders still in the race. Alongside Avinash were Rithvik Dhanjani, Orry, Karan Wahi and Farrhana Bhatt. The field was cut down during the first round. Karan failed to progress, while Farrhana also bowed out after her task. Only three names remained: Avinash, Rithvik and Orry.
The final challenge demanded speed as much as nerve. The contestants first had to jump from a helicopter. They then had to take a jet ski before entering the water and swimming towards the finish. An explosion marked the end of the stunt. Avinash handled the course in the shortest time. The result left little room for doubt. He had won Khatron Ke Khiladi 15.
Why the Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 Win Means So Much to Avinash Mishra
The announcement affected him more than he appeared to expect. As Rohit Shetty revealed his name, Avinash began to cry. He later spoke about how long he had waited for such a moment.
A decade had passed since he entered the industry. “2016 and now 2026. I have been nominated for awards several times, sat as an audience member at the award shows and even reached the finale of the last reality show (Bigg Boss 18). In my 10-year career, I never won any trophy or award. This is my first, and I don’t think there could have been a better start,” he shared.
Avinash Mishra’s Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 Prize Money and Rewards
Winning the title was only part of Avinash’s reward. He also received Rs 20 lakh, a Maruti Suzuki Swift and a trip to Europe. Yet the money and the other prizes seemed secondary to him. The trophy carried a different weight. In a post on Instagram, Avinash shared photographs from the celebration and said the victory came from refusing to give up on himself.
The show also gave him a chance to settle something that had bothered him for years. Avinash had spoken about being offered roles because some filmmakers saw him mainly as “eye candy”. He wanted to show that there was more to him than his appearance. Rohit Shetty had also backed him during the season.
The host called him a “lambi race ka ghoda”, an expression used for someone expected to stay in the race for a long time. The Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 win therefore adds something important to Mishra’s career. He now has a major reality-show title alongside his television work and his run on Bigg Boss 18. It is his first major trophy. It may also change the way some viewers see him.

Conclusion
For Avinash Mishra, winning Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 is an achievement that goes beyond adding another reality show title to his resume. The actor, who has been in the Hindi TV industry for nearly a decade, has had his share of ups and downs, including multiple nominations and a fourth-place finish on Bigg Boss 18, but this victory certainly sweetens the deal.
The win also marks a turnaround for the actor, as he was forced to perform some particularly challenging tasks, get drenched, and hold his nerve when it came down to the final three. While the cash prize, Rs 20 lakh, along with the Swift and the trip to Europe, are undoubtedly exciting, the real cherry on top might be the trophy itself.
After all, ten years is a long time to stick to something, and only now is Avinash Mishra able to say that he not only survived but thrived in the television industry.
