Shahad’s film Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar centres on four police officers who occupy relatively junior positions within the force. An unexpected encounter pulls them into a situation that quickly becomes difficult to control. Rather than reporting the incident and allowing an investigation to take its course, the officers attempt to keep the matter concealed.
Their decision puts them in the path of an experienced investigator, who begins examining the circumstances and gradually uncovers clues pointing towards what really happened. This setup gives Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar a different approach to the conventional police thriller.
Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar OTT Release Date
Netflix has announced October 9 as the Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar OTT release date, following the film’s theatrical release and favourable reception. The Malayalam thriller will be available in its original language as well as dubbed editions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar Cast and Crew
The theatrical chapter has now come to an end, and the film is moving to streaming. This gives Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar a chance to reach viewers far beyond Kerala and the Malayalam-speaking audience.
Its premise sets it apart from the usual police thriller. So does its cast, with Parvathy playing an officer for the first time in Malayalam cinema. For viewers who prefer crime stories in which the police themselves have something to fear, the film offers a rather different proposition.
PS Subramanian and Vijesh Thottingal wrote the screenplay. Roby Varghese Raj shot the film, with Chaman Chacko handling the editing. Mujeeb Majeed provided the music. Arjun Selva produced the project under the 11 Icons banner.
Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar Story and Parvathy Thiruvothu’s Role
The people at the centre of the story are not detectives searching for the person responsible for a crime. They are officers with something to hide, forced to deal with an investigation that could expose them. Their attempts to stay ahead of the inquiry create the film’s central conflict, turning the familiar battle between police and criminals into a contest between members of the same profession.
Parvathy Thiruvothu plays Aleena Abraham, a role that marks her first appearance as a police officer in Malayalam cinema. Aleena enters the force after losing her husband. The appointment comes through a provision meant for the families of deceased employees. She could have taken a clerical post. Instead, she asks for work at a police station. It is a choice that soon changes the course of her life and draws her into a difficult case.
Vijayaraghavan, Mathew Thomas, Sidharth Bharathan, Unnimaya Prasad, Azees Nedumangad and Vinay Forrt are also part of the cast.
What Makes Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar Different From Typical Police Thrillers?
The unusual part of the story is not simply that its main characters are policemen. It is that they know exactly what the police can do. They have seen investigations from the inside. They understand how officers question suspects, examine evidence and build a case from small details. They know, too, how quickly a suspicion can become a serious problem.
That knowledge leaves the four officers with little room to manoeuvre. Each new step in the investigation forces them to reconsider what they have done. They must protect themselves without giving the investigator more reason to doubt them.
The investigator, meanwhile, keeps following the evidence. He does not need to know everything at once. He only needs to find the next piece. As he does, the officers discover that their knowledge of the system may not be enough to save them from it.
For Aleena, the case becomes a turning point. She had chosen life at the police station instead of a quiet clerical post. Now that decision places her in unfamiliar territory. She must deal with difficult people, uncertain facts and a situation that tests her judgement. The work also forces her to look more closely at the people she thought she understood.
Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar Box Office Collection
The film reached cinemas on September 11 and went on to make a strong showing at the box office. Its producers later reported that the worldwide collection passed Rs 50 crore on the 17th day. That figure added another measure of success to the film’s theatrical run.
Conclusion
Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar, which has already had a theatrical release, is now poised to reach a much larger audience on Netflix, as a tense police thriller. The most interesting thing about the film is its premise: four officers on the opposite side of the investigation from cops attempting to solve a crime.
What makes the film so interesting is the fact that it takes four cops on the other side of the investigation, desperately trying to keep their own secret from coming to light. Just that is enough to develop some suspense and. Aleena Abraham, who has been cast as Parvathy Thiruvothu, brings another element to the story, especially since it’s her first Malayalam film as a police officer.
Now that the film is going to become available in Malayalam with Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi dubbing, Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar has a lot to add to your watchlist, particularly if you’re a fan of crime thrillers where even the cops have something to hide.
